The Artist

Artist’s CV

Tamara Deane is an artist who lives in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She has enjoyed a career in the fine arts, commercial illustration, and graphic design.

Her surreal oil paintings with whimsical and realistically painted subjects have hung in galleries, juried and group shows, and live in private collections.

Tamara’s paintings caught the attention of the Atlanta theatre community. She took on several projects as a set designer and was nominated for a Suzi Bass Award for scenic design in professional theatre for Horizon Theatre’s 9 Parts of Desire.

Inspired by the process of collaboration and inclusion and a desire to explore the purity of shapes and color through abstraction, Tamara’s new collection takes on an interactive flair. These paintings invite the viewer to become part of the creative process.

Each painting has multiple pieces of custom-painted disks arranged in a geometric format on a backboard. These disks are not static. Instead, the viewer moves the elements around to create a work of art that is uniquely theirs.

Tamara’s visions for future incarnations include variations that stay true to this inaugural work and can continue to grow, expand, and delight.

“I want to share the discovery and playfulness of the creative experience. I craft my pieces with the viewer in mind. I ask for participation in the creative journey.”
